I'm a new resident, what day does Trash Come?

Trash pickup for Kemp Woods takes place on Friday mornings.  In addition to the trash in your trash cans the City of Chesapeake will also take yard waste:

"Light yard waste such as leaves, pine straw, and grass clippings placed into clear 35-gallon plastic bags will be picked up with regular collections when placed at curbside. Residents do not need to call ahead for the collection of "bagged" yard waste. Dirt, rocks, mulch, sod, and other heavy yard items are not an accepted yard waste and will not be collected. Bagged yard waste is manually picked up and lifted into the back of rear-end loader trucks."

* Please note the City of Chesapeake does not offer recycling services.  If you would like to recycle you can use a private company such as Recyclops that services the neighborhood:  https://recyclops.com/locations/virginia/chesapeake/

How do I join the Kemp Woods Civic League Board or Participate on a committee?

What is the difference between a HOA & Civic League?

The biggest difference between a typical HOA and the Kemp Woods Civic League is that with an HOA residents are required to pay mandatory HOA dues while the Kemp Woods Civic League dues are voluntary.   Residents are still required though to follow the rules of the Civic League.

What is the Real Estate Agents responsiblity in letting their clients know about the Civic League?

Because Kemp Woods does not have mandatory dues a Real Estate agent is not required to notify their buyer(s) of the Civic League and a selling real estate agent is not required to disclose that the home is in a Civic League.  This information though is generally communicated at the initial stages of the transaction.
