Meet our Board of Directors
Thank you for stopping by to meet our Board of Directors. We are fortunate to have a team of Board Members and Committee Chairs who volunteer their time and bring a wealth of experience.  Their experience provides a voice for our community, subject matter expertise and professional skills that protect our beautiful community and property values and promote a sense of community and belonging for our residents.

President l Mark Sullivan

Mark Sullivan has served on the board since 2015 and currently holds the position of president. He served for over 30 years in the Chesapeake Fire Department before retiring in 2008. You can see him around the neighborhood walking his maltipoo Rhett or out working in his yard.
Vice President l Tanner Mulvihill
Tanner Mulvihill has served on the board since 2023 and currently holds the position of Vice President.  He is a United States Marine Corps Veteran and the owner of Bayfield Home Loans in Chesapeake.  He and his wife Bambi love Kemp Woods and can often be seen walking their two dogs Luka the Weimaraner and Maxi the Cavalier King Charles around the neighborhood. Treasurer l Ed Baughman
Ed is a military and civil service retiree with 38 years of Federal service. Ed and his wife, Becky, have been residents of Kemp Woods for over 20 years. During this time, Ed has served on the Kemp Woods Civic League Board of Directors for over 15 years; serving in roles such as President, Vice President, and currently as Treasurer. Ed enjoys traveling together with his wife, Becky. Their most recent trip was a two-week driving tour of Alaska. Ed is also an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoys watching their football games during the season.
 
Secretary l Diane McCann
Diane McCann joined the board in early 2022 and currently holds the position of Secretary.  She and her family moved into Kemp Woods in late 2019.  Finding a wonderful neighborhood that had a home with a first-floor master bedroom was essential.  Diane’s family includes her 82-year-old mother, her husband Paul, 16-year-old Ryan, 13-year-old Jake and puppy Captain.  In addition, Diane earned her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and has worked at an Architecture and Engineering Firm, Clark Nexsen headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA for over 24 years.  
 
Member At Large - Civic League Attorney l Jim Lang

Jim Lang joined the Board in 2018 as a Member-at-Large.  He is a 25-year Navy veteran and, for many years, served as the attorney for the Civic League.
 
 
Member At Large l Jody Gettys
Jody Gettys joined the board in early 2016 and serves as our Family Activities Coordinator.  She and her family moved into Kemp Woods in late 2015 and the Kemp Woods Civic League's Family Activities captured her heart from "Day 1."  When Jody and her husband, Humberto, moved into the neighborhood, their sweet son, Christian was only 15 months old.  The Gettys Family is very involved in the Kemp Woods Civic League and cherishes the opportunity to raise their son and live in such a wonderful community. In addition, Jody has over 20 years' experience in nonprofit leadership, earned her MBA from Regent University and currently works in a Fortune 137 company headquartered in Chesapeake, VA.  
 
Architectural Committee Chair l Steve Arcipowski
Steve is a US Army Veteran SOTFE and retired from the Ford Motor Company. While at Ford, Steve was the Lead Powertrain Operations Resident Engineer for the F-Series trucks and retired after 31.5 years. Steve and his wife, Virginia have been residents of Kemp Woods since 1998 and Steve has been active with the Kemp Woods Civic League for over 20 years. Steve currently serves as the Architectural Committe Chair and leads our Kemp Woods Welcome Committee.
